Soooo... I've finally sorted out this forum and I'm trying to encourage people to sign up and join in. You can earn points for posting forum topics and comments, you get points for logging in and a whole heap of points for inviting your friends and convincing them to sign up ;)

I will make a members area and I'm calling our community the 20lb Army! Sign up and join us, uncle Dan needs you.

So what other ideas do you have for the site? I want to make this bigger an better. Obviously you can come up with way better ideas than me probably so shoot, I'm all ears.

Thanks everyone,

Dan

Is there a button for me to put on my site?

[edit] Perhaps you could allow slightly longer signatures.

Don't have a badge/button yet but it's on my list. Will get it done ASAP. Good idea.

[EDIT] Just looked into the signature settings and apparently it's the type of field in the DB limiting it, rather than a limit in Drupal. I may be able to change the field type but obviously I'm not keen to break the database. Plenty of backups needed first ;) [/EDIT]

Don't risk breaking the DB on my account, Dan.

But thanks for the badge!

No worries, I've read some reports from other people who've changed the field type without any problems. I'll be reading into it and checking before doing anything. Seems odd that Drupal would use a field with a hard limit of 255 chars, must be a design decision.

Can I make one suggestion Dan, currently on the forums when a link is posted, clicking on it takes you away from 20lb.net and onto the page.  Could I suggest that instead a link opens up in a new tab by default, I just clicked on a link then closed it, only to have to navigate back to 20lb.net

Great site mate.

That's a great idea thanks. I'm not sure how I can set that as a default action. I'll try to work it out. There must be a way to govern the target attribute of posted links, it's where people have added an address that automatically becomes a link I'm not sure of. Need my thinking cap :)
